Our Breeding Season Must Haves!

Breeding season is here - this time of year you can catch us out in the pastures early in the mornings and late at night checking heats, setting up AI groups, donors, and recips, and making sure all the baby calves are staying healthy!

Here are our breeding season must haves, in no particular order:

• Estrotect Breeding Patches - these come in super handy this time of year! Even when cows are getting bull bred we use these so we can easily monitor when they were bred so we will know when they calve. Application: we use a curry comb first to get all the dead hair out of the area we are going to stick the patch. Then, we use Sullivan Supply tail adhesive and spray the area right before we apply the patch.

• Eazi-Breed Cidrs - if you're implanting embryos or just trying to shorten your calving window, these are the only way to go! You really can't effectively synch a group without using a cidr!

• GNRH: Fertagyl - we use this is both our AI and ET program. Used to treat ovarian cysts.

• PG - estroPLAN - this has become our favorite "PG" product. Extremely effective & a smaller dose compared to Lutalyse.
