Established in 2024, Scotch On The Rocks was founded by Jordan Ritz of Ritz Land & Cattle alongside Raymond and Sterling of Highland Connection. What started as an idea quickly turned into months of collaboration—refining concepts, challenging each other, and building something we felt the breed was missing.
Every year’s lineup is approached with intention. Countless hours go into evaluating genetics, planning matings, and curating an offering that is both cohesive and forward-thinking. In 2025, we introduced the Scotch On The Rocks Scholarship as a way to invest back into the future of the Highland breed. Supporting junior exhibitors and young breeders is something we believe in strongly, and this scholarship is designed to recognize their hard work and commitment. We’re proud to continue this effort and play a small role in helping the next generation move forward.

This is more than just another sale — and far from a set of leftovers. Every offering is intentionally selected from some of the most respected programs in the industry, creating a lineup built on quality, not convenience.
The sale is held annually each January, online the Monday following the Open Highland Show at the National Western Stock Show.
Buyers can expect a dynamic and carefully curated offering that may include flushes, pregnancies, sexed heifer and conv. embryos, a wide selection of sexed heifer semen, and access to exclusive, hard-to-find semen rarely made available to the public.
