When we first got started in the breed, we spent a lot of time studying programs and identifying the breeders we wanted to align with. We made a short list of operations we hoped to acquire cattle from within our first five years based on shared goals and, simply put, the kind of cattle we believe in. Willow Glen was on that list from day one. So when the opportunity came to purchase a female out of their production sale, it was not a decision we took lightly. We partnered with Jordan Ritz of Ritz Land & Cattle — a program we align closely with in both vision and direction.

Magpie immediately stood out. She brings presence, power, and genuine depth of rib, all while being developed strictly on grass. She’s sound, big-bodied, easy keeping, and backed by a strong set of feet and legs — the kind that hold up and work. Her pedigree, especially on the maternal side, offers a completely outcross option to our program, adding both diversity and long-term value.
